Why Train Your Volunteers?

There are more events today in the UK than ever before, and they are growing both in range and in size. From mass sporting occasions to small community fairs, events bring communities together, develop creativity, encourage competition, preserve local and regional culture and identity, and promote regional and national competitive advantage. They're big business too, with events in the UK estimated to contribute around £30 billion to the national economy.

With rising expectations it is important to train event support staff, many of whom are volunteers, to deliver a safe, enjoyable and professional experience for visitors.

The requirements of health and safety legislation and the development of guidelines for best practice within a growing but largely unaccredited field of expertise, also create a demand for people who know what is required of them and are competent and confident in service delivery.
